Programme Introduction
The 3-day Purposeful Coach Programme introduces each delegate to a series of behavioural concepts that allow them to become a more capable coach. The programme provides coaches with the opportunity to develop new skills and be exposed to innovative coaching theories, which will be applied in practice in an environment of peer support.
This training offers an innovative package that is specifically designed for those in positions where coaching is part of their leadership role and who want greater momentum toward improved performance. It builds an understanding of the differences between coaching, mentoring and other forms of support and is firmly based on the ethical guidelines developed by the Association for Coaching.
The Purposeful Coach Programme will include:
- An exploration of Body Psychotherapy in the coaching context;
- The role of Perceptual Positions in discovering new options;
- An understanding of the Problem Pyramid and accessing a client’s Secondary Gain;
- The importance of coaching in developing key behavioural competencies;
- Understanding the role of coaching in leadership and executive development;
- Accessing conscious and unconscious material through Specific and Vague Questioning techniques;
- Working with memories;
- A deep awareness of human communication and
- Coaching using psychometrics (In advance of the programme, each delegate will complete an online psychometric (the MTQ48 or FIRO-B) that measure personal resilience or interpersonal relations. These can be usefully applied in a coaching context.)
Each delegate will receive a series of short podcasts, which will provide additional course material, in advance of the programme.
